“Wasteophonia” collective audio-visual performance project, (2014 - ...)
Wasteophonia is collaborative, ongoing performative project, established by the art collective "Kula".
The art group is starting collaboration with local dump-lands, by borrowing objects that has potential of producing sound, and create DIY instruments. The created objects, can serve both as instruments and sculptures. The process of creating the "instruments" is also a rehearsal time, which results as improvisation audio visual performance on stage. The project is not ending with the end of the performance. After the improvisation session on stage, the instrument-objects are returned back to the dump.
Seeing the cycle of the waste on this process is questioning the nature of objects itself. Beginning as a pile of dump - transforming into sound producing objects and then returning back to the dump-land as dead sculptures.
